Here are some notes from our discussion on Holy Week.

The following scripture was written 75 years before the birth of Christ.

Alma 34:13

“Therefore, it is expedient that there should be a great and last sacrifice, and then shall there be, or it is expedient there should be, a stop (3 Nephi 9:19 offer up no more the shedding of blood; yeah your sacrifices and your burnt offerings shall be done away. ) to the shedding of blood (blood of sin offering of sacrifices); then shall the law (3 Nephi 1:24 No more expedient to observe the law of Moses) (3 Nephi 15:5 Behold, I am he that gave the law, and …..for I have come to fulfil the law; therefore it hath an end) of Moses be fulfilled; yea, it shall be all fulfilled, every jot and tittle, and one shall have passed away.

Jot is often understood to refer to the smallest letter of the Hebrew alphabet ( a yod, which looks like an apostrophe) a “tittle” to the smallest strokes that distinguish from letter from another.

Interpreted as even the smallest details of God’s law are important and should not be disregarded

Whit refers to being completely or utterly cleansed from sin and iniquity, a state necessary to perform miracles in the name of Jesus. (being free from sin and impurity, both in thought and deed, to the point where one is capable of performing miracles and receiving divine blessings.

Exodus 12: (1300 years before Christ is born)

LORD (when the word Lord is written in caps in the bible it is Jesus Christ speaking)

Passover in Hebrew means the beginning of a New Year.  The day a lamb is brought into the homes is the same day Christ came in as the Lamb.  Had to put the blood of the unblemished lamb over the door post.  If there was no blood on the post of the door the first born child of man or the first born of the man’s beast would die.

Feast is an ordinance (This Passover feast is what delivered the Israelites out of Egypt

Leavened – yeast

Hissop – branch

Circumcised – baptized.

Matthew 26:17 (1300 Approx years after the exodus apostles ask where to have the Passover)

Last Supper instituted the sacrament.

Luke 22:15-19

3 Nephi 18:1-39 (sacrament) Passover. Jesus institutes sacrament to the Nephites that piece of bread is your atonement the Redeemer fulfilled

Scriptures the Sacrament prayers are written:

Moroni 4 & 5 is the Sacrament prayer

D&C 20 sacrament prayer

Why do we Passover? – because the Lord delivered us.
