Brett became the Elder's Quorum President in the Limon Twig (aka Branch). The Stake President called Brett to see if he could come over. His son had just returned from a mission. We came to his home and they gave us homemade ice-cream on the porch and then asked Brett if he would be the EQ President. We thought that was a pretty clever way to sweeten the deal. ha ha.

Limon is where we drive 75 miles to. It was a good thing we did that when we served in Emmett. The Hour is usually an adventure, because if it isn't the unpredictable weather, it's the wild animals, deer, racoons, rabbits, and now in the evening is the luxury of road construction that we usually have to wait for. The travels vary from 2-5 times a week. Yes we have looked into moving closer the only place we found was 20 miles away from Limon and it was ok except no internet. So that's a nope. Not to mention where we live currently we are centrally located for our Humanitarian Project.

In Limon, we have been helping teach a sweet gal from Zimbabwe. The Mission office even had a Book of Mormon in her language (Shona). She speaks English great, but to hear her speak her language was so beautiful.

We are teaching a Family History Class and an English Connect Class in Limon also. We had two people come to English Connect Class and that was a HUGE Win for us, because we doubled our class. We usually bring food for us and the Missionaries serving there, because they hardly get invited for meals. There are not very many options for eating out and we get sick of that. The Hermana's will sometimes make us tamales, or papusas those are so yummy! (The Hermana's are from El Salvador and Mexico)

In teaching English Connect, not being able to speak Spanish has been hard. We have one Elder who speaks Spanish, so he has to translate a lot. These Sisters are so sweet and really want to start understanding English. I really want to understand them speaking Spanish. So interesting how things happen. We were at Zone Conference and I was talking to a Senior Sister Missionary and she just happened to receive a phone number for Senior Missionaries to learn Spanish from the MTC via Zoom. It took us a bit to get it all set up, but We each now are being tutored individually Spanish. I never thought I would be learning a new language. It is a good thing we get to learn separately, because we are at different levels.

Humanitarian Project. This project President and Sister Kotter has assigned to us to put into place for Christmas. Last year one area served the homeless. Members had gathered supplies of coats, hats and gloves. On Christmas Day, the missionaries put together hygiene kits and made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches then handed these things out to the homeless on Christmas day as well as serving a meal to them. As you can imagine, Christmas is a super hard day for the Missionaries because they need to let people be with their families and it leaves for a long day of being bored and even depressed. What better way to celebrate Christmas than being Christlike and giving Service. So we have been assigned to work with 9 Stakes throughout the mission and help them incorporate some type of service for their areas and then making it so the missionaries can serve on Christmas Day.

We have a couple of Stakes who are making things for the Elderly and the missionaries will serve the Elderly on Christmas day. We are excited to see what each Stake will come up with. We started this in May and are still trying to get some Stakes on board.

We do have some adventures with some of the Senior Couples occasionally. That's fun! Our main food lady for our mission is having a foot surgery, so we will be helping her out while she recovers. We also are apartment inspectors for 8 places of our missionaries. Our whole district and 3 in another District. Brett is pretty tough! We have let them know what we expect and then whoever wins we take them out to lunch or dinner. It is quite the competition! In fact, to give you an idea, A companion of Elders didn't clean out their microwave. They did pass, however the microwave wasn't clean so they lost that month. We have a lot of fun with these missionaries.

Our Zone had set a goal to give out 225 copies of the Book of Mormon. If we made our goal, President gave permission to have an All Zone P-Day (this is called a Preparation Day, I call it a Play day, but it isn't usually a play day for us) Our Zone had accomplished our goal. By the day of P-Day we had 398 copies handed out. Brett and I made lunch for the Zone, and the Sunday before we made food for our Linger Longer. It was a big weekend of cooking. They had a volleyball tournament amongst the districts within the zone. We played games and basketball. It was a great day!!

Our Kitchen is way too small for two of us. Brett has taken it upon himself to learn how to make sourdough bread. We also have tried a new wheat its called Einkorn. It's really good, it's supposed to be way healthier for you. So basically when I get off this mission I will not have a job. I won't need to cook or bake anymore.

Well there you have it. If you made it through this long carry on!
