135 days we have been serving a mission. Crazy! I’m getting bored of my clothes (I miss my shopping trips with my girls). I don’t have time to shop. I look in the closet and say what should I wear today, Again! Ha ha
We just had transfers! We got two brand new missionaries from the MTC. Who came to our District. Twenty Five new missionary’s total came this transfer. We made ourselves very busy this last transfer and it was wonderful. When our missionaries have transfers we don't have as many appointments to attend. We went on a couple of adventures: Rode the cog train to Pikes Peak. Which if there is one thing that I do love about Colorado Springs, It’s seeing Pikes Peak everyday. I love this mountain at the elevation of 14,115 ft. In the train, we climbed the mountain 7000 feet. It was 8 miles up the mountain and it took 1 hour on the train traveling about 10 mph. The lady who wrote the song America the beautiful went up to Pikes Peak and the lyrics of this song came to her from the Pikes Peak journey. This song took 2nd place to becoming our National Anthem.
We then went to the Airshow and the Blue Angels were there also. We went with some of the senior couples. It was a great day! We are feeling the suns after effects as it scorched our faces and neck. . Basically it the first time we have really felt summer during this mission.
Apartment living is interesting. I’m not sure what the upstairs neighbors do but their footsteps are loud. Sometimes I think they are going to fall thru our roof. the worst part is when I’m sleeping and then you hear footsteps pounding on our ceiling, and I wake up wondering who is in my house. It definitely brings back memories to our early days in our marriage. The good news is we have a roof over our heads, I’m not sleeping on the ground in some kind of hut. All is well!
We are teaching ONE lady in English Connect. Hey “Seeking the One!” I love her! She is so wonderful. I can’t speak Spanish and she can’t speak English. I’m trying to learn Spanish. I’m going to have to do better at practicing. She makes some amazing Salvadorian food. Sometimes I’m scared to try something new, but here I am serving a mission where the whole experience is new to me. I can tell you though, our spirits definitely connect. Another Spanish lady I love too! She hasn’t come to class yet but she will. Today at our Linger Longer she gave me the best hug. A little later she came back and gave me another big
hug. No words of any language is needed. That embrace says it all.
The Lord knows each of us individually and your families. We are all connected as brothers and sisters. We are children of our Heavenly Father. When we have eyes to see and ears to hear then the Lord makes known these connections. Even his Spirit confirming we are on the right path. While Satan works to dim our light, and wanting to isolate us. Let's Look out for the One, Love the One and Serve the One.
