Our schedule cleared up on Saturday, July 20 and we knew that Manassa was having a big Pioneer Celebration. We also knew that Rex and Elaine Dalton (Brett's Sister)
were going to be visiting Graham and Sandee as well as Jill and Robert and family, Justin/Shelby and family and representing Whitney and Ashley their little girl Hailey, and Sam and Karlie and their family. Zach and Janeen and family were not able to make it. We jumped in the car to travel the mere 3.5 hours to travel to Alamosa. Went to the first church building built near LaJara, CO (just down the road from where Graham and Sandee live. It was built in the late 1800s. We went to the parade, they had some great floats and it's the only parade we have been to that the parade went down one way and came back the other way.
We had our P-day (mostly called Preparation Day , I call it Play day). We met our District at the church building for games and gathering. Well not one missionary was there at the specified time. We saw a Pest Control Salesman run across the street and jump over the fence towards the church. I laughed "I bet he needs to use the bathroom." Yep that's what he needed. Brett asked if he was a return missionary. He didn't know what a return missionary was. So he went to the bathroom and I grabbed a book of mormon from the car. When he came out Brett talked to him about the Restoration and about the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ, where Christ after his resurrection came to the Americas to teach the gospel to them. Anyway, the Elders who are always on time, they finally showed up and had a good discussion with the guy. He wanted us to put the Book of Mormon under the tree until he could get it when he was done with his shift. The Elders forgot!!
Next day, we had to do an apartment inspection to those Elders who forgot about the Book. So we reminded them to keep a look out for the guy whose name is Angel. It wasn't ten minutes after we left those Elders and they texted us: "Hey we found Angel, speak of the Devil! We gave him the Book of Mormon!" ha ha meant to be.
Next small miracle. We have been asked to teach English Connect for our Spanish friends. Brett and I have been attempting to learn some Spanish big thanks to Clark Day. Well we finally had our first English Connect and an actual student. Woot Woot. Hopefully she will share with her loved ones who would like to learn English as well.
When we were teaching with the Elders in Limon. The lady we were teaching was from Phillippines. She made us a Phillipino Drink.

Our English Connect Class

The drink is very sweet. Everything in it is coconut something. The white stringy things is coconut and then white chunks of coconut and a green candy coconut gel candy with coconut water. A couple of sips worked for me.
